It has been one week since I started the Wellness Challenge. The biggest challenge is not eating bread. As an Italian, I feel like I am required by the laws of nature to eat a loaf of bread with a side of meatballs every day. I have replaced that routine with an obscene amount of vegetables. If you are also trying to stay away from carbs, but love pasta, ratatouille is a great substitute, it is jammed packed with vegetables and has a tomato based sauce which is basically healthy spaghetti sauce. Though I must admit I wanted to dip some bread in that sauce. My diet has been more successful than my exercise routine.
As long as we are counting yoga in the house as exercise, then I still haven’t been exercising… I downloaded Asana Rebel on my phone for days when I can’t make it to the gym. The only time I made it to the gym this week was Friday. I am going to try to be better this week. I am going to do yoga in my house tomorrow and go to the gym Monday night… probably….
One of our Chiropractors, Dr. Jamie, who’s also a nutritionist, suggested I try Isagenix shakes. I hated the idea of this, but as my schedule got busier and busier I was thankful for the shake mix. It acted as a great meal substitute. If I hadn’t had it with me I for sure would have gone through a drive-through, which probably wouldn’t go well with my new healthy diet.
I feel like a should mention how easy it is to go off your diet, I went to a Japanese Buffet, which I had never been to before. Without thinking I put potstickers and hum bow on my plate, ate it all before I realized that was not something I should have eaten. Fun Fact; Hum Bow is usually a breakfast food!
Check back every week to hear me complain about being healthy.
